Apply for this Scholarship:

a sample of your work between 500 and 1000 words.
2. You may send
fiction, creative nonfiction, personal essay, humor, poetry
or experimental.
3. This writing
can be about anything. The idea is to send something that
illustrates your writing ability.
4. There is no
entry fee.

6. With your writing
sample, send the financial information you find at the
bottom of this page. This information will be considered
private and will
only be seen by the trustee of the endowment fund. The purpose
of the financial information is to satisfy the requirements
of this funding source.
Please give honest figures. You are on the honor system.
You need not be
completely impoverished to receive a scholarship. The requirement
is that it would be a clear financial burden for you to
paythe $795 tuition.
7.
Recipients will be selected both on financial need and writing
ability. Preference will be given to first time scholarship
recipients, but previous recipients are still eligible.
8. Recipients
must be current residents of Santa Barbara County, age
18 or older, and must be able and willing to attend the
Santa Barbara Writers' Conference.
