Many writers from A Community of Voices attend this excellent national conference.

Santa Barbara Writers Conference

The focus of SBWC is to give fledgling writers the best opportunities to improve their craft and to help them find the best paths for them to bring their work to publication.

Santa Barbara Writers ConferenceStudents include Beginning and Experienced writers for a week of Lectures, Workshops, Personal Conferences and daily involvement with Writers of Fiction and Nonfiction, Journalists, Poets, Screenwriters, Agents, Editors and Publishers. We have thirty dedicated professionals on staff to guide you in daily sessions. Although our evening speakers are great and certainly stimulating, probably the most value to your progress will be what happens in those morning and afternoon workshops.

Workshops in Fiction, Nonfiction, Biography, Science Fiction, Mystery, Screenwriting, Dramatic Writing, Poetry, Juvenile, Romance, Humor, Marketing, computer for Writers, and Self-Publishing are held every morning and every afternoon. These sessions are led by patient, experienced and sensitive staff members who know their craft. In addition, "pirate" workshops, offered every evening after the lecture and often continuing into the wee hours, provide opportunites for informal manuscript critiques, problem-solving and marketing questions.
